CVMC Auxiliary awards local students $20,000 in scholarships

The Central Vermont Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship Committee Chair Peg Ayer announced that the Auxiliary awarded ten $2,000 scholarships to local students planning to study for careers in health care.

“Students and adult learners throughout CVMC’s service areas were invited to apply,” stated Heidi Pelletier, CVMC Auxiliary president. “We believe it is important to assist area students in their quest to become the next generation of health care providers.”

A Dartmouth-Hitchcock physician is among nine appointees to the nominating committee for Vermont’s new Green Mountain Care Board.

Louis A. Kazal Jr. MD, a practicing family physician at Dartmouth-Hitchcock and president of the New Hampshire Academy of Family Physicians, was appointed by Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin on June 1. He was one of three nominating committee members recommended to Shumlin by Vermont Senate President pro tem John Campbell.
