Alyssa McBride has joined Davis & Hodgdon Associates CPAs as an Associate Accountant. Alyssa graduated from St Michael’s College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She has prior public accounting experience at a firm in St. Johnsbury and recently completed a tax internship with Davis & Hodgdon. Currently, she is preparing to sit for the CPA exam. Alyssa is originally from the Northeast Kingdom and currently resides in Essex Junction.

Dori LaFrance Richards promoted to Underwriting Manager at Merchants Bank

Zoe Erdman, Senior Vice President in the Credit Division at Merchants Bank, has announced the promotion of Dori LaFrance Richards to the position of Underwriting Manager in the Credit Department. In her new position, Richards will be responsible for the residential and consumer loan underwriting and administrative functions of the Credit Department. New Executive Director for The Vermont Commission On Women

Neil Kvasnak officially voted to first term at the Vermont Historical Society

Neil Kvasnak of Shelburne was officially voted in to his first term at the Vermont Historical Society Annual Meeting in September. Mr. Kvasnak had served on the VHS Board of Trustees since October 2011, filling an unexpired term. He has over 30 years experience in the financial services industry with an in-depth knowledge of commercial lending, capital markets and investment management. During this time he has been employed by Chemical Bank, Bank of Boston, First Union (now Wells Fargo), KeyBank and most recently UBS Financial Services. Sanders recognized by Disabled Veterans Organization

U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has been chosen to receive a Congressional Leadership Award from the Disabled American Veterans.

“Your personal efforts led to important increases in funding for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder treatment, Gulf War Illness research and adaptive housing grants for seriously disabled veterans,” said Larry Polzin, the DAV national commander. “When veterans have needed your support, you have always stood up for them.”
