Steven J. Renehan, CEO of Solus Alternative Asset Management, named to the St Michael's College Board of Trustees

Steven J. Renehan, a 1981 graduate of Saint Michael's College, and successful financier, has been named to the Saint Michael’s Board of Trustees. Mr. Renehan, a resident of Summit, NJ, is CEO of Solus Alternative Asset Management, New York, N.Y. He was appointed to a three-year term on the Saint Michael’s board, renewable for another two terms, and he attended his first board meeting at the college October 11-13.

Vermont Affordable Housing Coalition elects three new members to steering committee

The Vermont Affordable Housing Coalition (VAHC), a statewide membership organization dedicated to ensuring that all Vermonters have decent, safe and affordable housing, announces the addition of three new members to the Coalition’s Steering Committee. Elected at the annual meeting, John Broderick, Sara Kobylenski, and George Mathias will be serving on the VAHC Steering Committee for 2012/2013. The Coalition’s Steering Committee serves as its board of directors.

VTDigger hires four new staffers

VTDigger, Vermont’s independent online news source, has hired four new employees. The staffers include a web developer, two reporters and a part-time editorial/administrative assistant.

VTDigger’s investment in staff is evidence of the Vermont Journalism Trust’s ongoing commitment to support the publication of hard-hitting daily reporting on Vermont politics and a wide range of public policy topics, ranging from health care reform to energy, business, education, human services, the environment and state finances.

Vermont Historical Society welcomes new board of trustees

James “Jim” Gallagher was recently elected to the board of trustees for the Vermont Historical Society. Jim is a native of Lyndonville and a graduate of Lyndon Institute. He graduated from Tufts University and earned a law degree at the Cornell Law School. He received honorable discharges from the U.S. Air Force and the Vermont Air National Guard and has been employed by the law firm of Downs Rachlin Martin for over 40 years. Jim currently serves on the board of the Lyndon Institute, having served as president from 1994-2003.

Alyssa McBride joins Davis & Hodgdon Accounting

Alyssa McBride has joined Davis & Hodgdon Associates CPAs as an Associate Accountant. Alyssa graduated from St Michael’s College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She has prior public accounting experience at a firm in St. Johnsbury and recently completed a tax internship with Davis & Hodgdon. Currently, she is preparing to sit for the CPA exam. Alyssa is originally from the Northeast Kingdom and currently resides in Essex Junction.
