Author Megan Price scheduled to appear at Book King Bookstore

Book King Bookstore welcomes back Author Megan Price, who will be there to introduce her newest addition, Volume 3, to the Vermont Wild Series, on Saturday Morning, December 8, 2012 at 10AM. This most recent installment will continue to charm and delight fans. It includes wacky, true warden encounters with a cagey cougar, battlin’ beavers, wily woodchuck, monkeys with guns, footrace with a woodchuck and a jinxed snowmobile. There is bonus material that includes memories of the legendary Vermont warden, Red Hooper, and his dog, Smokey.

St. Johnsbury man elected to Vermont Public Television community council

Jerry Aldredge of St. Johnsbury has been elected to Vermont Public Television's Community Council, an advisory group that helps the statewide public television network respond to the needs and interests of Vermonters.

Aldredge is artistic director of Catamount Arts. With VPT, Catamount Arts presents screenings of PBS documentaries, including the free monthly Community Cinema that includes panel discussions and audience questions.

The next Community Cinema at Catamount Arts is “Solar Mamas” on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m.

Cavan Chasan to take on role of digital connections director at KSV

Leahy to receive 2012 annual Achievement Award from Vermont Law School’s Washington, D.C., Alumni Association

U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vermont, will receive the 2012 annual Achievement Award from Vermont Law School’s Washington, D.C., Alumni Association on Nov. 27 in the U.S. Capitol Building.

The award recognizes organizations and people who have demonstrated outstanding achievements as leaders, catalysts, and educators, particularly in the field of environmental policy.
