Leahy to receive 2012 annual Achievement Award from Vermont Law School’s Washington, D.C., Alumni Association

U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vermont, will receive the 2012 annual Achievement Award from Vermont Law School’s Washington, D.C., Alumni Association on Nov. 27 in the U.S. Capitol Building.

The award recognizes organizations and people who have demonstrated outstanding achievements as leaders, catalysts, and educators, particularly in the field of environmental policy.

VNA welcomes two new honorary board members

The Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties announced the appointment of two new members to the VNA Honorary Board.

Gretchen Morse of Charlotte is a natural ambassador for VNA services. Morse led the United Way of Chittenden County for twenty years and among her many accomplishments, raised over $70 million during the annual community campaigns. Before joining the United Way, Morse was Secretary of the Vermont Agency of Human Services from 1985-1991 and a Vermont State Representative from 1977-1985.

CEDO Director Owens announces hiring of Kesha Ram to enhance city’s public engagement efforts

Community and Economic Development Office Director Peter Owens announced that Burlington resident and State Representative Kesha Ram has joined the CEDO team to focus on enhancing the City’s public engagement efforts. Ram, who began her new job this morning, will serve as Community Development Specialist, an existing position that had been vacant for several months. Ram will be the point person for communications between the Administration and community groups, including the Neighborhood Planning Assemblies (NPAs), New Americans, grassroots coalitions, and other organized constituencies.

Attorney General William H. Sorrell announces appointment of Deputy Attorney General

Attorney General William Sorrell announced today that Assistant Attorney General Susanne R. Young became Deputy Attorney General on November 13, 2012. Susanne replaces Sorrell’s deputy, Janet C. Murnane, who left the position to become Director of the Consumer Assistance Program on the campus of the University of Vermont. The Deputy Attorney General is the second highest position in the office, manages many of its day-to-day functions and assists in the oversight of over seventy Assistant Attorneys General.

Morrisville youth is 2012 Top Youth Volunteer for March of Dimes Vermont Chapter

Morrisville , VT - Devan Hill, a senior at People’s Academy, was honored with the 2012 Top Youth Volunteer Award by the March of Dimes Vermont Chapter at the Stowe Signature Chefs Event at the Town & Country Resort October 21.
