Martha P. Candon Named as Senior Vice President and Business Development Officer at Ledyard National Bank

Ledyard National Bank is pleased to announce that Martha P. Candon has been named as its Senior Vice President and Business Development Officer, a newly created strategic position.

Marty has been the Senior Retail Banking Officer since 1991, when Ledyard was first formed. Over the last eighteen years, she has developed many Ledyard products and services, opened new branch locations, established client-friendly operating procedures and served as a mentor to the bank’s retail employees.

He served as the Chief Operating Officer at The Bank of New York as well, and as the President and Chief Executive Officer at Scarsdale National Bank.

She will be responsible for further improving Union Street Media’s Internet marketing and search engine optimization strategy and leading the Internet Marketing Team as the client roster continues to grow. Elissa brings 10 years of experience as the Search Operations Manager at Dealer.com, and as Web Content Editor at Vermont Teddy Bear Company. Jennifer Connelly joins Sterling Construction

Jennifer Connelly recently joined the Sterling Construction, Inc. team as Office Manager. Connelly will manage the office operations of Sterling Construction, a residential builder and developer. She recently relocated to Vermont from Virginia where she worked for Regency Centers.

Fletcher Allen general surgeon caring for patients at Gifford

Ovleto Ciccarelli thought he’d be a history teacher, but a biology course and an experience with his father in his junior year at Central Connecticut State College changed all of that.

Ciccarelli shared with his father his interest in that biology course, particularly anatomy. His father, a surgeon, invited his son to see the human anatomy firsthand.

On a Saturday night, Ciccarelli scrubbed in with his father and another surgeon for emergency surgery to remove a cancerous tumor that was obstructing a patient’s colon.

NMC To Employ Obstetricians

In order to enhance continuity in obstetrical services in Franklin County, Northwestern Medical Center will employ two local obstetricians and has entered into a contract with the third. As of January 1, 2010, Dr. Elisabeth Fontaine and Dr. Lowery Sullivan will be employees of NMC for obstetrical services, while continuing their private gynecology practice, Green Mountain OB/GYN. Dr. Leonard Tremblay now has a contract with NMC for obstetrical call coverage and will maintain his private gynecology practice, Healthy First.

Students graduate from Mercy Connections Women's Small Business Program

Thirteen was the lucky number. On December 13th, 13 Chittenden County women graduated from the Women's Small Business Program Start Up offered at Mercy Connections in Burlington. The ceremony took place at Mercy's Shelburne Road location. The graduates of the 15-week program join approximately one thousand other alumni who over the past two decades have gleaned the necessary tools to become successful entrepreneurs through the WSBP at Mercy Connections.
