Shelburne Museum hires convervator for major paintings project
Shelburne Museum has hired a paintings conservator to assist with treating 20 of the museum’s most important American paintings, Museum Director Stephan Jost announced.
Painting Conservator Pamela Betts joined the museum in January. Prior to Shelburne Museum, Betts worked for ARTEX Fine Art Services in Maryland. Previous experience includes positions at the National Gallery of Art and the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
Benjamin Wilson joins Langrock, Sperry & Wool
Benjamin J. Wilson has joined the team of attorneys at Langrock, Sperry and Wool, LLP. A graduate of the College of William and Mary and the University of Chicago Law School, Ben practices in the areas of business litigation, family law, complex litigation, criminal defense, and civil rights. Ben is admitted to the State and Federal courts in Vermont and Massachusetts, as well as the Federal Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He will be based primarily in the Middlebury office.

Goad most recently worked as an ePrescribe support specialist for Allscripts-Misys Healthcare Solutions. She brings extensive customer and technical support experience from positions at such organizations as NPI and the University of Vermont as well.

McFarland Johnson announces that Richard W. Dall, P.E., LEED AP, SECB, a Regional Office Manager in the Facilities Group, has received Certification by the Structural Engineering Certification Board (SECB) of Chicago, IL. This Board Certification identifies Mr. Dall as a professional engineer with the specialized education, experience, and expertise to engage in the practice of Structural Engineering.
Leader of Governor’s Institutes of Vermont to Retire
After 17 years of service, Jean Olson, has announced she will retire as of March 1, 2010 from the position of Executive Director of The Governor’s Institutes of Vermont (GIV). Olson has spent over 30 years in education from teaching in private and public schools, to a stint teaching English as a second language to mainland Turkish students in North Cyprus, to her most recent role of GIV’s Executive Director.
Assistant Dean for CEMS is named
Interim Dean Bernard “Chip” Cole has announced the appointment of Doug Dickey as Assistant Dean of the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences (CEMS).
Dan Harvey, current Assistant Dean, was appointed Assistant Dean of the Graduate College and Chief of Staff for the Vice President in July 2009. Harvey will continue as Assistant Dean at 50% in CEMS to assist with transition issues and academic unit operations until June 2010. Dickey will transition into the position working 50% this semester in the Dean's Office.
