Hannaford announces Retail Operations Vice President for Western Division

Hannaford Supermarkets has named Rudy DiPietro as vice president of Retail Operations for the company’s Western Division. DiPietro oversees all aspects of store operations in New York and Vermont, including sales, marketing and budgets.

“Rudy is an experienced, high-energy leader,” said Eric Blom, Hannaford spokesman. “His understanding of the grocery business and focus on meeting customer needs provide real benefit to the people who shop at our stores in New York and Vermont.”

Vermont Chamber names Bill Stenger as Citizen of the Year

Bill Stenger, President and Chief Operating Officer at Jay Peak Resort, has been selected as the 2011 Citizen of the Year by the Vermont Chamber of Commerce. Stenger’s achievements will be toasted at a gala event on December 9, in coordination with the sneak preview of Jay Peak’s nationally acclaimed 50,000 square-foot Pump House indoor water park.

The prestigious Citizen of the Year Award, now in its 48th year, highlights the work of a Vermonter who has bettered the state through self-sacrifice, service and volunteerism.

CVMC opens endocrinology practice

Susanne Trost, MD recently joined Central Vermont Medical Center and has opened a practice in Building C on the main campus in Berlin.

Dr. Trost attended medical school at the University of Freiburg in Germany. She spent four years as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of California, San Diego. She then came East and completed her residency in internal medicine at Fletcher Allen Health Care and the University of Vermont in Burlington. After a year as chief resident she pursued a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at FAHC/UVM.

Vermont Association of Educational Office Professionals Administrator of the Year Award announced

The Vermont Association of Educational Office Professionals (VAEOP) has announced that Rich Tulikangas, Executive Director of Linking Learning to Life, Inc. is 2011 Administrator of the Year. The award was presented to him at the VAEOP 73rd Annual Fall Conference by VAEOP President, Glory Martin on Saturday, October 29th at the Stoweflake Resort & Conference Center in Stowe, VT.

Anne Bijur to coordinate Communications and Outreach for Vermont FEED (Food Education Every Day

Anne Bijur has returned to Shelburne Farms where she worked in a series of education and outreach roles between 1998 and 2008. Her new title: Communications and Outreach Coordinator for the FEED project.

She succeeds Libby McDonald with responsibility for the FEED website, FaceBook updates, press releases, coordinating publications, strengthening the Farm to School network and generally keeping people in the loop. She will also do grant writing for FEED and general administration.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock's leadership structure streamlined; names Weinstein Chief Executive Officer

The combined Boards of Trustees of Dartmouth-Hitchcock has announced the appointment of Dr. James Weinstein as Chief Executive Officer of Dartmouth-Hitchcock. This new position consolidates the leadership of Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital (MHMH) and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic. Dr. Weinstein will also assume the presidency of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health.
