VITL announces changes and addition to the organization

Vermont Information Technology Leaders, Inc. (VITL), the non-profit organization that operates the Vermont Health Information Exchange and assists Vermont health care organizations with health information technology, has announced the following:

Regi Wahl has assumed additional responsibilities in her new role as project manager, senior consultant. Those responsibilities include mentoring of newly-hired project managers and conducting program planning across all of VITL’s initiatives. Wahl has more than 20 years of technical project management experience in information technology, software development, and engineering consulting. Prior to joining VITL in April 2010, she was with Fletcher Allen Health Care for almost 10 years where she served as an applications analyst, management engineer, and senior project manager. Wahl is certified by the Project Management Institute as a project management professional (PMP). She earned her BS and MS in industrial engineering and management from Oklahoma State University.

Jennifer Moran has taken on a new role as solutions engineer. She will develop tools for VITL and its customers that improve efficiency and quality across all of VITL’s initiatives. Moran joined VITL in August 2010, after working for six years at Epic in Wisconsin as a technical services representative and a reporting support engineer. At Epic, she managed reporting initiatives for laboratory, radiology, cardiology, and surgery applications. Moran received her M.S. in Biology from the University of Notre Dame and her undergraduate degree from Ithaca College.

VITL is both the designated health information exchange for the state of Vermont and the federally-designated regional extension center for the state of Vermont. VITL’s mission is to collaborate with all stakeholders to expand the use of secure health information technology to improve the quality and efficiency of Vermont’s health care system.
