Lee Kittell is the new Program Director for WDEV Radio. WDEV is central Vermont’s only locally owned and programmed radio station; Kittell is currently WDEV’s evening voice as the host of “Dinner Jazz” and “SCORE! With Lee Kittell”.

Ken Gibbons, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Union Bank is pleased to announce Robert Hofmann has been selected as Senior Vice President and Senior Operations Officer. Hofmann brings many years of experience at the senior management level to the position. Ruth B. Smith has been promoted to the position of executive vice president for protection at National Life Group, it was announced today by Mehran Assadi, president and chief executive officer.

Since 2009 Smith has been in charge of the life insurance division of National Life Group, a Fortune 1000 company with $29 billion in assets under management. She oversees product development, business acquisition services, customer services, agent services, and claims management.

Gov. Peter Shumlin has announced he will appoint Burlington attorney Thomas G. Walsh to the Environmental Division of the Superior Court. Walsh, who has practiced environmental law for 18 years, will replace retiring Judge Merideth Wright.
