Ken Gibbons, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Union Bank is pleased to announce Robert Hofmann has been selected as Senior Vice President and Senior Operations Officer. Hofmann brings many years of experience at the senior management level to the position. His extensive resume includes recent service to the State of Vermont as Secretary of Human Services, Commissioner of Corrections, and Commissioner of Finance and Management. Prior to that Rob worked for Chittenden Bank, as Director of Business Services and previously as Director of Marketing. Other prior places of employment over his thirty-year career include New England Culinary Institute, American Express, and Dun and Bradstreet.
Hofmann graduated with an M.B.A. in Marketing and Finance from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business and he received his B.A. in History with a Minor in Management from S.U.N.Y College of Cortland. He has also earned top honors from Stonier Graduate School of Banking and is a graduate of Leadership Champlain. Hofmann is a board member for Vermont Public Television and has served on the Vermont Housing Conservation Board, the State Retirement Fund Board and the Board of the Vermont Chamber of Commerce. A long-time resident of Waterbury Center, Hofmann is an advisory member of the ReBuild Waterbury steering committee.
As Senior Operations Officer, Hofmann will be responsible for managing the following departments: Electronic Banking, Information Technology, Merchant Credit Card Processing, Deposit Operations and Item Processing. Hofmann has also been appointed Chair of Union Bank’s Product Development Committee.
