Hannaford announces Retail Operations Vice President for Western Division

Hannaford Supermarkets has named Rudy DiPietro as vice president of Retail Operations for the company’s Western Division. DiPietro oversees all aspects of store operations in New York and Vermont, including sales, marketing and budgets.

“Rudy is an experienced, high-energy leader,” said Eric Blom, Hannaford spokesman. “His understanding of the grocery business and focus on meeting customer needs provide real benefit to the people who shop at our stores in New York and Vermont.”

Immediately prior to assuming his current role, DiPietro served as Director of Fresh Merchandising for Hannaford and Bloom. He has worked in a variety of leadership positions at Hannaford, including district manager in the Greater Boston region (District 21) and store manager in Sanford, Maine.

DiPietro is active in the community. He created and led the “Battle of the Businesses” Basketball Tournament, which benefitted the Maine Children’s Cancer Center from 2008 to 2010. He also has coached youth and high school football as a volunteer.

Hannaford Supermarkets, based in Scarborough, Maine, operates 179 stores in the Northeast. Stores are located in Maine, New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont. All Hannaford stores feature Guiding Stars, America’s first storewide nutrition navigation system and most stores have full-service pharmacies. Hannaford employs more than 26,000 associates.
