StJA Teacher leads frisbee team to national title

For most of us, Ultimate Frisbee is a game we play at the beach, a music festival, or a local park. St. Johnsbury Academy teacher Josh Seamon pursues it more seriously. For the past six years Mr. Seamon has been coaching Boston Ultimate Disc Alliance’s (BUDA) Coed Ultimate Frisbee team. Each year he has taken the team to USA Ultimate’s Youth Club Championships, placing among the top three for the past five years. This year, Mr. Seamon and his team travelled to Blaine, Minnesota, where they won the USA Ultimate Mixed Division Championship.

Vermont Land Trust welcomes Nick Richardson in new Vice President role

The Vermont Land Trust has announced that they have hired Nick Richardson as the new Vice President for Enterprise and Finance. Over the past decade, VLT’s conservation tools have increasingly taken on more of an entrepreneurial design. For example, VLT’s work to help new farm enterprises gain affordable access to land requires both conservation planning and business analysis. Nick Richardson will bring his financial management and business operations skills to the VLT management team.

Jill Murphy joins DuBois & King

DuBois & King, Inc., consulting engineers announce that Jill Murphy, has joined the firm as a Staff Accountant. Mrs. Murphy recently served as Regional Director for the Central Vermont Building Bright Futures Council. Mrs. Murphy resides in Berlin and works out of the firm’s Randolph headquarters.

Addison Chamber elects new Board of Directors; presents annual awards

The Addison County Chamber of Commerce recognized local businesses, organizations, and individuals with its annual awards during the Chamber’s annual meeting held on September 6th at the Vergennes Opera House. Five awards were presented in front of a crowd of nearly 100 attendees which included Chamber members and local business people. In addition to the award presentations, the Chamber membership voted on a new board of directors.

Sawyer Sutton joins DuBois & King

DuBois & King, Inc., consulting engineers announce that Sawyer Sutton has joined their marketing team. Mr. Sutton graduated from Clarkson University with a Bachelor of Science in Communications. Mr. Sutton served as a journalist at the Stowe Reporter and as a visual information specialist at Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park. Mr. Sutton resides in Stowe and works out of the firm’s Randolph headquarters.
