Emma Harrigan, vice president of policy at the Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health Systems, has been appointed chair of the board of directors of Vermont Information Technology Leaders. She succeeds Richard Elmore, who had served on the board since 2015.

Rachel Schiffer, camp director and interim co-executive director at Smirkus Circus, has been appointed executive artistic director of the Greensboro-based performing arts organization. In her new role, Schiffer will provide strategic and artistic oversight for the entire Smirkus operation.

Dr. Ernest Bove, medical director at Marble Valley Urology, has helped Rutland Regional Medical Center achieve designation as a UroLift Center of Excellence for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, commonly known as an enlarged prostate. Rutland Regional is the only hospital in Vermont to have achieved this distinction.

The Council of State Governments has selected Democratic state Sen. Kesha Ram Hinsdale of Shelburne as a 2023 recipient of the 20 Under 40 Leadership Award.

In her new position, Grenier will guide Encore’s growing workforce.

Rose Kenary, general manager of Manhattan’s Pizza & Pub, and Joe Carton, chief operating officer of Westport Hospitality, have been elected to the board of directors of the Burlington Business Association, a nonprofit membership organization comprising 200 businesses and nonprofit members.

The Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital Auxiliary elected the following officers during its annual meeting Nov. 3: Susan Carr (pictured), president; David Miller, vice president; Tracey Herold, treasurer; and Ellen Rowe, secretary. The newly elected officials will serve until the 2025 term.

Sgt. Michael Filipek has been promoted from acting lieutenant and patrol commander to lieutenant and station commander of the Vermont State Police St. Albans Barracks, which provides police coverage throughout Franklin and Grand Isle counties.

Brian Racine, former sales manager for the Lipkin Audette Team at Coldwell Banker Hickok & Boardman, has joined Four Seasons Sotheby’s International Realty as regional manager for Greater Vermont. In this new position, he will manage Sotheby's South Burlington, Rutland, Killington and Stowe offices.

National Life Group has appointed financial services veteran Conor Boyd as its general agent of the Affiliated Channel’s White Plains and Capitol Region agency, headquartered in White Plains, New York. Boyd joins National Life from Thoroughbred Advisors, a New York financial services firm he founded in 2014.

Tammy Gosley, lead teacher of the Head Start and Early Head Start Program at United Counseling Service in Bennington, has been named 2023 Vermont Early Childhood Educator of the Year by the Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children.
