VITL welcomes Emma Harrigan as board chair

Emma Harrigan

Emma Harrigan, vice president of policy at the Vermont Association of Hospitals and Health Systems, has been appointed chair of the board of directors of Vermont Information Technology Leaders. She succeeds Richard Elmore, who had served on the board since 2015.

“VITL is thrilled to welcome Emma as the chair of our board of directors,” said President and CEO Beth Anderson. “Her extensive experience in health care policy and data-driven decision-making will be invaluable as we continue to advance health data-sharing in Vermont.”

In her position at VAHHS, Harrigan provides leadership on mental health policy, quality initiatives, systems design, member development, emergency preparedness and data analysis for hospitals and health systems across Vermont. She is recognized as a strategic advocate for data utilization and performance accountability, particularly in the context of mental health care.

Shawn Burroughs will continue to serve on the VITL board's executive committee as vice chair, along with secretary Jessa Barnard and treasurer Debra Royce.
