Community College of Vermont graduate Matthew Moore and faculty member April Zajko received awards from the Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children at the organization's annual conference Nov. 7.
Moore, of Sharon, received the Early Childhood Education Student of the Year award. He completed his early-childhood education associate degree earlier this year and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Vermont State University. Moore is an assistant teacher at the Sharon Elementary School preschool.
Zajko, a former instructor of Moore, received one of two Outstanding Member Awards presented by the VTAEYC. She is a licensed early-childhood educator and reading specialist. Zaiko is a graduate of Delaware State University and holds a master’s degree from the University of Virginia.
