State Police name new station commander of St. Albans Barracks

Sgt. Michael Filipek has been promoted from acting lieutenant and patrol commander to lieutenant and station commander of the Vermont State Police St. Albans Barracks, which provides police coverage throughout Franklin and Grand Isle counties.

Field station commanders are the local representatives of the Vermont State Police to the communities they serve, and they work with local officials and residents to address public safety and law enforcement concerns in their service area.

In addition to these duties, Filipek serves as team leader of the Tactical Services Unit. He is an Army veteran and a graduate of Norwich University.
