Vermont Democrats are preparing for the upcoming election cycle with the hiring of Cameron McClimans as House campaign director. McClimans will be responsible for creating and implementing a campaign plan that includes fundraising, incumbent support and candidate recruitment.

Mary K Parent of St Johnsbury, a director in the business law group at the Vermont law firm Downs Rachlin Martin, has joined the board of directors of Union Bank.

The Vermont Community Foundation in Middlebury has filled two leadership positions with the hiring of Nancy Rowden Brock as vice president for finance and Holly Morehouse as vice president for grants and community impact.

The Addison County Economic Development Corporation recently approved four new members to its board of directors and elected a new executive team for the 2022-23 term. The trustees of the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center recently elected five new members to three-year terms on the board. They are:

CVFiber, a nonprofit communications network provider for residents and businesses in central Vermont, has hired Jennille Smith as its first executive director and first full-time employee.

Beth Hammond, former executive director of Heineberg Community Senior Center, has joined Living Well Group, a nonprofit organization with residential care homes in Burlington and Montpelier, as executive director.

Catherine Simonson, chief client services officer at Howard Center, has announced she will retire at the end of 2022 after 27 years with the organization. Simonson joined the center in 1994 and spent more than 22 years as a social worker leading and expanding child and family programming.

Union Mutual Insurance Company announced it has hired George MacKinnon as vice president of underwriting, effective April 1. MacKinnon has more than 30 years' experience in the insurance industry, working most recently at Patrons Oxford as vice president of underwriting.

Casella Waste Systems, a regional solid waste, recycling and resource-management services company, announced the promotion of Kevin J Drohan to vice president of finance and chief accounting officer, effective April 1. As previously announced, Christopher B Heald recently retired as CAO after a 20-year career with the company.
