Twin Valleys names Manno Director of Programming & Content

Longtime broadcaster and consultant Louie Manno of Burlington has been named Director of Programming and Content for Twin Valleys New Media Network, LLC.

Twin Valleys New Media operates a regional TV network including WBTV and WGMU in Burlington and WNMN in Saranac Lake, NY, as well as broadcast translators in New York, Vermont and New Hampshire. The stations feature the Retro Television Network’s lineup of classic TV shows such as “Dragnet,” “The Rockford Files” and “Leave it to Beaver.”

Barber, Waxman Named Fellows of American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers

Key names Jason Frank to lead Burlington branch

KeyBank recently hired Jason Frank as Vice President and Branch Manager of its downtown Burlington branch.

National Geographic Society selects UVM scientist as an "Emerging Explorer" for 2010

The National Geographic Society has selected University of Vermont scientist Saleem Ali as an "Emerging Explorer" for 2010. He will be featured in the June edition of National Geographic magazine.

One of fourteen "visionary, young trailblazers from around the world," the society announced today, Ali, an expert in conflict resolution and environmental science, will also receive a $10,000 prize.

Ali has received international acclaim for his work to bring together vying -- even warring -- groups to communicate and build diplomatic trust.
