Twin Valleys names Manno Director of Programming & Content

Longtime broadcaster and consultant Louie Manno of Burlington has been named Director of Programming and Content for Twin Valleys New Media Network, LLC.

Twin Valleys New Media operates a regional TV network including WBTV and WGMU in Burlington and WNMN in Saranac Lake, NY, as well as broadcast translators in New York, Vermont and New Hampshire. The stations feature the Retro Television Network’s lineup of classic TV shows such as “Dragnet,” “The Rockford Files” and “Leave it to Beaver.”

Manno, a native of Brooklyn, New York, has been involved in the Vermont media scene since joining WQCR-FM (now WOKO) in Burlington in 1985 as host of the “Manno in the Morning Show.” Manno later co-hosted the long-running “Manno and Condon Show” with sidekick Jim Condon on WKDR-AM in Burlington.

Manno has also worked as an imaging consultant for WVNY-TV in Burlington and as a marketing consultant for Vermont Teddy Bear and other local companies.

“Given my love for television and my experience, this is an ideal opportunity,” Manno said. “Our goal is to break the mold when it comes to serving our local communities. We want to involve our audience and our advertisers and to have fun while doing it.”

Manno will oversee programming and new media content for the group, and will help to create and develop local programming.

“I’m extremely happy to have Louie on board. He’s a highly-talented individual who enjoys the business and has real dedication to the community,” said Jeff Loper of Twin Valleys New Media. “We plan to have a lot of fun,” he added.
