Saint Michael’s names Jonathan L. D’Amore, author and teacher, new Associate Dean of the College

Jonathan L. D’Amore, author of two books with a third under contract, has been named Associate Dean at Saint Michael's College. He will begin this summer, as the current dean, Dr. Joan Wry, assumes a position as SMC Associate Professor of English.

Dr. D’Amore will work closely with students and faculty addressing academic challenges. He will also focus on enhancing teaching at Saint Michael’s and on assessing curriculum “to maximize student achievement,” said Dr. Karen Talentino, Vice President for Academic Affairs, in announcing the new associate dean.

Alison graduated from Hobart & William Smith Colleges. She is a licensed Property and Casualty Insurance Agent with 9 years of experience in the insurance industry. Peterson Consulting announces hiring of project coordinator

Peterson Consulting President Tom Peterson announced the hiring of Amanda Kava as project coordinator.

Kava's role will be to coordinate project-related communications, research, and scheduling for Peterson Consulting’s clients in health care, transportation, housing and higher education.

Kava is a graduate of the University of Vermont with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies. Her experience includes internships at Vermont Green Building Network, Renewable Energy Vermont and Northeast Wind Power.

AllEarth Renewables announces the hiring of Jack Nichol and George Shelley

AllEarth Renewables has announced the recent hiring of Jack Nichol, as electronics technician, and George Shelley, as programmer.Both Nichol and Shelley come to AllEarth with extensive experience in their technical fields.Nichol, of Burlington, is a former U.S. Marine where he served as an avionics technician during two tours of duty in Iraq. He comes to AllEarth from UTC Aerospace Systems, where he maintained radio, navigation and display systems for aircrafts and also instrumentation for commercial and military applications.

DuBois & King, Inc., consulting engineers announce that Brian Mack, PE, has joined the firm as a Project Designer in the Transportation Division. As a Professional Engineer in Vermont and New York with 10 years of experience, he has served as a Civil Engineer for the New York State Department of Transportation and as a Construction Inspector. Brian currently lives in Waitsfield and will be working out of the firm’s Randolph headquarters.
