Mcneil named as next city attorney

The City of South Burlington is pleased to announce that Colin K. McNeil, Esq. has been hired as the South Burlington City Attorney. Colin knows South Burlington well having worked with the City over the past several years, representing the City Council and Development Review Board as conflict counsel and on special projects. The City Council will consider his official appointment as City Attorney at its next regular meeting on September 7.

Gifford welcomes Thievon to Bethel Health Center

While trying to figure out a career direction in college, Susan Thievon had a meeting with a nurse practitioner. That encounter led Thievon on a path that now continues as a nurse practitioner in primary care at Gifford’s Bethel Health Center.

“I just had a positive experience through my education,” Thievon said. “That just kept me going.”

Thievon received her Bachelors and Masters from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Oklahoma City, OK.

VCUDA hires Anderson as first employee

The Vermont Communications Union Districts Association (VCUDA) welcomes Will Anderson of Montpelier as its first employee, with the title of Interim Program Coordinator. He will be the central administrator for the VCUDA going forward, with responsibilities in strategic planning, financial management, acquisition of shared services for member Districts, and communications with the Vermont Community Broadband Board, amongst other government bodies.

Vermont State Police expands victim services unit

The Vermont State Police has expanded its ability to provide victim services to Vermont community members with the hiring of Amy Farr, MSW, as a victim services specialist.

Farr will work with people who have experienced trauma, and she will help victims and witnesses navigate challenging circumstances while cases are under investigation. This position, as part of the Victim Services Unit, was made possible through funding support from the federal government and enhances resources dedicated to meeting emotional needs of those harmed in our community.
