Daniel Jacobs of Burlington has joined Northeast Benefits Management, LLC (NBM) as a partner, bringing a background in consumer-driven health care that strengthens the South Burlington firm in its delivery of consulting and related services in employee benefit administration.
In his previous positions with the University of Vermont Health Network and UVM Medical Center, Jacobs worked with benefit plans that regularly had several thousand participants and retirement assets of more than $2 billion. He also has experience in directing Vermonters to health care solutions as part of Vermont Health Connect.
“Daniel’s competencies will suit NBM well,” noted Sherry O’Leary, a fellow partner at the firm. “He brings a reservoir of ideas and perspectives to our work with a wide variety of businesses.” Jacobs earned a bachelor’s degree from UVM, and a master’s in business administration from Champlain College.
Also recently joining Northeast Benefits Management was Rob Spaulding of Burlington, whose 16 years’ experience at the Vermont Department of Health contributes to his work for NBM in claims administration, invoicing and adjudication, compliance monitoring and filing, and relationship management. At the Department of Health, Spaulding served as a subject-matter expert and trainer for Vermont Health Access, Vermont Health Connect, and the department’s Health Access Eligibility Unit.
“Rob has a strong aptitude for benefits administration and management,” O’Leary said. “His additional experience with managing a benefits call center means Rob has taken quickly to helping NBM deliver great customer experiences.”
Spaulding earned his bachelor’s degree from Plymouth State College in music and music technology — and in his spare time, he continues to work as a professional DJ.
NBM has been managing employee benefits for clients since 2002. More information can be found at www.nbmus.com.
