Barb Watters (pictured), an agent at Ashe Insurance in Essex, was named Member of the Year by the Vermont Association of Insurance Professionals. She was recognized Nov. 13 at the annual Commissioner's Night event held by the VTAIP and the Champlain Valley Association of Insurance Professionals.

Co-workers and colleagues praised Watters for the trust she instills in her clients and for her dedication to the industry and the association.

Randy Farmer, former chief operating office at the Delaware Health Information Network in Dover, Delaware, has joined Vermont's nonprofit health information exchange, VITL, as president and CEO.

Walter Frame, chief operating officer and director at von Trapp Family Lodge & Resort in Stowe, has joined the board of directors of Union Bank. At von Trapp Lodge, Frame oversees operations across the resort’s 2,500-acre property, including its hotel, brewery, recreational amenities, homeowner association management and real estate development.

Jared Perry, former managing director and chief operating officer of partnership strategies at Bain Capital in Boston, has joined Mac Mountain in Woodstock as head of capital markets. In this newly created role, Perry will spearhead Mac Mountain’s capital markets strategy, investor engagement and financial structuring as the firm accelerates its growth across fiber‑broadband deployments and strategic partnerships.

Gabe Porter-Henry, a two-decade veteran of the ski and outdoor industries, has joined Burke Mountain Resort as general manager. He succeeds Tom Day, who had served as interim general manager since June.

For the past decade, Porter-Henry has worked at Berkshire East Mountain Resort. Involved in all aspects of the operations, he held numerous leadership positions at Berkshire East as well as its affiliated companies, Zoar Outdoor in Charlemont, Massachusetts, and Big Red Cats in Rossland, British Columbia.
