CVHHH is honored to welcome award-winning writer and Montpelier resident Katherine Paterson as chair of our annual spring fundraiser. Many of you may recognize Katherine from her much-beloved books, including Bridge to Terabithia and The Great Gilly Hopkins. Many may also know Katherine from her 31 years as a resident of Barre and Montpelier.

Barre native and national quality expert Anna T Noonan, BSN, MS, RN, has been appointed president and chief operating officer for The University of Vermont Health Network – Central Vermont Medical Center (CVMC). Following a rigorous national search, she emerged as the successful candidate and will start in the role July 24.

Dr Carlos Alfaraz has joined the Primary Care team at Gifford Health Center at Berlin. Board-certified, he brings 22 years’ experience in family medicine and urgent care. He has a special interest in integrative health, which approaches disease management and medical treatment with a “whole person” focus and incorporates prevention and healthy lifestyle into patient care.

On Tuesday, May 2, 2017 over 200 members joined Vermont Federal Credit Union leadership and staff at the DoubleTree in South Burlington to elect the Board of Directors.

Special Olympics Vermont President & CEO, Lisa DeNatale has announced she will retire, effective December 1, 2017. For the past six years, DeNatale has led the state-wide non-profit organization that provides inclusive sports training and competition opportunities to children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

College of St Joseph (CSJ) is pleased to announce that Jody Breault has joined the College as Vice President of Human Resources. Breault has more than 16 years of experience in human resource management in both the private and government sector. Prior to joining CSJ, Breault served as director of human resources for the City of Rutland for nearly seven years.

Castleton is proud to announce that former professors Bob Gershon, John Gillen and Bob Johnson were recently granted the title of Professor of Humanities Emeritus by the Vermont State Colleges Board of Trustees. Professor Emeritus status is the highest academic rank, awarded to select faculty members after long and distinguished service to the University and its students.

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) recently welcomed Brandon Reed as the new Director of Finance. Reed was previously employed at Cooley Dickinson Medical Group in Northampton, MA as the Accounting Manager.

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) recently presented the 2017 Employee of the Year Award to Brian Patno, Certified Medical Assistant for Just So Pediatrics and a member of the hospital’s Community Health Team. Vermont Legal Aid (VLA) staff attorney Sean Londergan has been selected as Vermont’s new State Long-Term Care Ombudsman (SLTCO). Starting May 1, Londergan began leading the Vermont Long-Term Care Ombudsman Project (VOP), a team comprised of six regional ombudsmen and local volunteers.
