Mt Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) is pleased to announce that board-certified cardiologist Dr Shawn M. Ahmad has joined the Hospital’s growing team of specialist providers. Mt Ascutney Hospital and Health Center (MAHHC) recently hosted a gathering of employees and friends at the first annual Nurses Week Awards, which was inaugurated to recognize nursing professionals who go above and beyond for their patients and colleagues. The event was held as part of National Nurses Week, which was celebrated from May 6 to May 12. Light refreshments were served.

Gifford Health Care recently named Ursula Margazano the executive director of Gifford Retirement Community and administrator of Menig Nursing Home. Margazano brings to the role 20 years of long-term care experience in Vermont.

Noted singer-songwriter, author, and community activist Dar Williams will make two appearances at the Chandler Center for the Arts in Randolph this coming Saturday, June 9. Williams will first address a gathering of regional artists, arts presenters, economic development officials, creative economy advocates, and interested community members in Chandler’s Upper Gallery at 3 pm on Saturday.

On Saturday, June 2, Emerson College’s award–winning radio station WERS 88.9 FM hosted its annual WERS Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The event honors Emerson alumni (many of whom worked at the station) who have contributed greatly to the broadcasting industry.
