Mr. Kowalczyk comes to Sovernet with over twenty years of successful financial and operations management, including ten years with telecommunications companies: Maine Cellular, Prexar Internet, and Utilities, Inc. Bill has led the development of strategic plans and implemented financial and operational systems in a number of companies. Champlain College honors local community leaders

Champlain College will confer three honorary degrees during this year’s 131stst Commencement ceremony on May 9. The Board of Trustees of Champlain College selected Lois H. McClure of Shelburne and Holly D. and Robert E. Miller of Burlington to receive honorary doctoral degrees. Holly Miller and Lois McClure will each receive a Doctor of Humane Letters degree and Robert Miller will receive a Doctor of Commerce degree. Holly Miller will deliver remarks on behalf of the honorary degree recipients during the ceremony at Memorial Auditorium for Champlain’s 2009 graduating class.

Concentra Inc adds client relations manager

Jan Grady has joined Concentra, Inc. as Client Relations Manager, serving medical centers in South Burlington and Barre. Grady, who has over 20 years of sales and customer service experience, will be responsible for selling the services of Concentra, which include clinical services, consulting services and services provided on-site at an employers facility. She previously worked as a sales representative for Paychex, Inc. in Hartford, Connecticut and as an account executive for Exterus Technology for Business of Shelburne.

NASSJA honors Ingvoldstad with lifetime achievement award

At their annual meeting on March 21, 2009, the North American Snow Sports Journalists Association (NASSJA) presented awards in several categories to notable persons who have made significant contributions to winter sports endeavors. The ceremonies took place in Lutsen, Minnesota. Among the honorees was Peter Ingvoldstad of Jeffersonville, Vermont, a long time director of the Snow Sport University (SSU) at Smugglers’ Notch Resort.
