The presentation to legal and business professionals explored Estate Planning, Powers of Attorney, Advance Directives, Medicaid Long-Term Care Programs, Preserving Assets, and Medicaid Planning.

Laura Hubbell MSW, CVMC manager, earns certification

Laura Hubbell MSW, Program Manager, for the Care Management Department at Central Vermont Medical Center, recently earned her certification as an Accredited Case Manager, ACM from the American Case Management Association (AMCA). AMCA is the non-profit membership organization for Hospital/Health System Case management professionals. According to hospital survey data, with a 95% confidence level, Case Management professionals overwhelmingly support a Case Manager credential specific to Hospital/Health System Case Managers.

Two join Vermont Public Television's community council

Alisha Sawyer of St. Albans, Vt., has been elected to Vermont Public Television's Community Council, an advisory group that helps the statewide public television network respond to the needs and interests of Vermonters. Mother of two young children, Sawyer was formerly director of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce. Active in the community, she is a member of Northern Vermont Rail Trail Council and program coordinator for Franklin-Grand Isle LEAD Program (leadership development).
Marie Leahy of Bennington, Vt., has also been elected.

CENTURY 21 Jack Associates sales professional Lauded for customer service

CEO of Stonyfield Farm to receive honorary degree along with six others

Gary Hirshberg, president and CE-Yo, as he likes to be called, of Stonyfield Farm, will deliver the commencement address at the Middlebury College graduation ceremony on May 24. Hirshberg will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree. Betty and David Jones, John and Bonnie McCardell, Frank Sesno and Clara Yu will also receive honorary degrees.

Linda Bogardus joins TD Insurance in Burlington

Linda Bogardus has joined TD Insurance, Inc. in Burlington, Vermont, as an Account Manager in the Core Division of Commercial Lines. She is responsible for marketing and servicing large commercial insurance accounts throughout the region. Bogardus has more than 23 years of experience in commercial insurance. Prior to joining TD Insurance, she served as an Associate Account Executive with Hackett, Valine & MacDonald. A resident of Essex Junction, Bogardus is an active volunteer in her community and in 2008 received one of the Governor’s Outstanding Community Citizen awards.
