Alisha Sawyer of St. Albans, Vt., has been elected to Vermont Public Television's Community Council, an advisory group that helps the statewide public television network respond to the needs and interests of Vermonters. Mother of two young children, Sawyer was formerly director of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce. Active in the community, she is a member of Northern Vermont Rail Trail Council and program coordinator for Franklin-Grand Isle LEAD Program (leadership development). Marie Leahy of Bennington, Vt., has also been elected. Leahy works in alumni relations and development at Bennington College. She is also active in Bennington-area arts and educational organizations. John King, president of Vermont Public Television, said, "We are delighted to have Alisha and Marie join the Community Council. Council members play a key role in helping VPT be its best."
