Gifford welcomes new hospitalist PA

Gifford Medical Center’s hospitalist team has grown to include certified physician assistant Joshua Gleiner. Gleiner of Orleans comes to Gifford from North Country Health System, where he worked for the last two years providing primary care to rural patients of all ages at Community Medical Associates in Newport.

A 2001 graduate Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Gleiner went on to attend Finger Lakes School of Massage Therapy in Ithaca, N.Y., and then the physician assistant master’s degree program at Albany Medical College, also in New York.

Professor and interns initiate GIS Mapping and Planning at Lyndon

In the lab with Professor John DeLeo are three summer interns, Ashlee Beard, a Lyndon junior from E. Burke, and Casey and Megan Ogden, twin sisters from Mt. Abraham Union High School.

Scientist with Environmental Compliance Services completes training

Thomas Murphy, Senior Environmental Scientist with Environmental Compliance Services, Inc. (ECS) of Waterbury, recently completed design and installation training for geothermal heat pump systems. The training was provided by Earthklinked Technologies, Inc. and Mr. Murphy is now a certified dealer for both residential and commercial direct exchange heat pump systems. Geothermal heat pumps are capable of utilizing the natural heat storage ability of the earth as a primary source for heating and cooling your home or business.

Stowe Area Association elects new president

Stowe Area Association has elected Chuck Baraw, owner of the Stoweflake Mountain Resort and Spa, as the Stowe Area Association President. While on summer vacation from his studies pursuing a bachelor of science in business administration at the University of Vermont, Baraw worked with a construction crew to build the Stoweflake Inn and Resort. Baraw continued his studies and received a master of business administration in financial management. In 1969, Baraw returned to the newly expanded Stoweflake with professional experience and expertise and began his career with the property.
