Yestermorrow Design/Build School Welcomes Community Outreach Coordinator

The Yestermorrow Design/Build School in Warren is thrilled to announce the addition of its newest member, José Galarza. José is Yestermorrow's new Community Outreach Coordinator through the VHCB AmeriCorps program for the coming year. He will be working on a helping Yestermorrow reach out to the local community, coordinate class building projects with community clients, represent Yestermorrow at conferences and events, and lead outreach and marketing efforts.

Vermont welcomes energy master Jana Shiloh

Jana Shiloh, MA, CCH, has been a homeopathic educator for over twenty-five years in Colorado, India and Sedona, AZ. She is the author of Curing Colic and Lactose Intolerance with Homeopathy and Homeopathy for Birthing. Her training includes over 2,000 clinical hours under Dr Howard Fine, and well over 2000 hours of homeopathic seminars from leaders in homeopathy around the world. She will be working with the Coaching Center of Vermont in Winooski and Candles & Creations in Colchester.

New Hires at Pharmacy College

The Colchester, Vermont, campus of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences has announced the hiring of four new faculty members. There are now 12 full-time faculty on staff at the College. The campus will begin classes on Monday, August 31, 2009.

Benjamin W. Mallory of South Burlington has been hired by FairPoint Communications to serve as Account Executive I responsible for territory in northern Chittenden County and Washington County. Prior to joining FairPoint, Mallory worked for Integrity Communications as a District Manger. He has 7 years of experience in the telecommunications industry including as an account executive for AT&T. Mallory is a graduate of the University of Vermont and a member of the Queen City Chapter of BNI Vermont.

Vermont Business Magazine hires Bell and MacLaughlin

Vermont Business Magazine has hired Sara Bell as a new account executive for the print and online versions of VBM, www.vermontbiz.com. Sara is a graduate of Boston College with a major in communications. While at BC she interned at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute where she coordinated among other things the opening ceremony for the 2005 WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon which raised a record breaking $2.5 million. The Jimmy Fund is the major charity for the Boston Red Sox.

Jessica Ingram & Nikki Jillson join Davis & Hodgdon Associates CPAs

Jessica Ingram has joined Davis & Hodgdon Associates CPAs as an Associate Accountant. Jessica is a 2009 graduate of Champlain College with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and is currently preparing for the CPA exam. She has previously worked as a bookkeeper for a local non-profit organization in Burlington. Jessica is originally from Southern Maine but currently resides in Shelburne.

St Johnsbury Academy’s Jerry Prevost honored

St Johnsbury Academy Culinary Arts instructor Gerard “Jerry” Prevost was among the honorees at this year’s American Culinary Federation (ACF) National Convention, held July 11-14 in Orlando, FL.

Prevost won the People’s Choice award in the “One-Pot Win-a-Lot” competition, which involved incorporating quick-cooking rice varieties into a main course dish for a well-balanced comfort meal prepared in the one-pot style of cookery.

Recipes could include no more than 10 ingredients, including a quick-cooking rice, and cooking time was limited to 15 minutes.
