Civil engineer joins Stantec
Civil engineer Mary Ellen Parkman has joined the South Burlington office of engineering firm Stantec. Parkman comes to South Burlington after eight years in the company's North Springfield, Vermont, office working on water and wastewater engineering projects for cities and towns throughout the Northeast. Parkman, an associate at Stantec, will now lead the environmental team in both Vermont offices.

Top chef named at CVAA event
Sam Palmisano of Pulcinella’s in South Burlington took home the title of the Top Chef of the Champlain Valley for the second year in a row. Palmisano competed against chef Robert Barral of Café Provence and JJ Vezina of the Windjammer Restaurant and Upper Deck Pub in an Iron Chef competition using all fresh Vermont produce, cheese and proteins donated by area farmers. The secret ingredient was announced to the chefs and the audience at the start of the competition and each chef had 50 minutes to create an appetizer and entrée highlighting this year’s secret ingredient, honey.
NEFCU CEO retires
Geoff Akiki, Chair of the Board of Directors of New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU), announced today that CEO David T. Bard will be retiring, effective January 2010. Bard assumed the position of CEO in 1986.
Far Post announces management reorganization
Far Post Soccer Club, a premier soccer organization in Vermont, announces changes in its management structure designed to enhance both the on-field experience and the day-to-day operations of the club.
