Governor Douglas appoints Otter Valley Junior to the State Board of Education

Governor Jim Douglas has announced the appointment of Robert Kelley of Brandon as student representative to the State Board of Education. Kelley, an incoming junior at Otter Valley Union High School, will serve a two-year term on the state board.

“We had many impressive student candidates this year,” Governor Douglas said. “I am very pleased to appoint Robert to the State Board. He will bring an important perspective to the board and help transform education in our state to meet the needs of a changing 21st century economy,” he added.

SymQuest welcomes document solutions account executive

Larry Sudbay, President and Chief Executive Officer of SymQuest Group, Inc., has announced that Sean Kuit has been hired as a document solutions account executive to work in the Upper Valley region of Vermont and New Hampshire. Kuit previously worked with SymQuest for eight years but has been in the industry for over thirteen. Sean will be working out of the West Lebanon, NH, SymQuest office.

George Demas hired as general counsel

Executive Director Sarah Carpenter announced that George Demas of Colchester has joined Vermont Housing Finance Agency (VHFA) as General Counsel.

He directs and administers all legal matters for the Agency, including: real estate closings; federal and state housing program activities; work associated with the issuance of bonds and other funding sources; litigation, including foreclosures; and legal aspects of VHFA's corporate matters.
