Internal medicine physician and infectious disease specialist joins Gifford Medical

An internal medicine physician with more than 20 years of experience and special board certification in infectious diseases has joined Gifford Medical Center.

Dr. James Currie joined Gifford’s internal medicine outpatient practice in Randolph this month. Internal medicine physicians provide primary care to adults. Infectious diseases are those that are contagious or communicable and include everything from the flu to HIV.

CVMC hires Chief Therapist/Manager for Cancer Center

Trisha L. Hunt, BHS, RT(T) has been hired to join the team at Central Vermont Medical Center as the Radiation Oncology Manager at CVMC’s National Life Cancer Treatment Center.

Trisha received her Associate of Science in Radiation Therapy degree from the University of Vermont and completed her Bachelor of Health Services (BHS) degree in Health Care Administration at Florida Atlantic University. She is currently pursuing her MBA at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire.

Family Practice of Newport welcomes newest health care provider

Sometimes it takes traveling to other, less developed regions of the world to see how good life and medicine is in the United States.

During the past year Jennifer Stanton has traveled to far corners of the world providing healthcare to people who might otherwise not receive it.

“You learn to appreciate what you have,” Jennifer said. “I also learned I have so much, and there is so much I can live without. Life in those countries is simple but the people are happy.”

Chair elected to Fletcher Allen's Foundation board

Fletcher Allen Health Care has announced that Glen Wright has been elected Chair of the hospital's Foundation board. Wright, a native Vermonter and former managing partner of KPMG LLP's Burlington office, succeeds Edwin I. Colodny as chair of Fletcher Allen's fundraising board. In addition, Brian Boardman has been elected Vice Chair, and Emily Morrow has assumed the position of Secretary.
