Grounds Crew wins first annual Saint Michael's College Team Distinguished Staff Award 2010

The Saint Michael’s College Grounds Crew was named winner of one of the first Saint Michael's College Team Distinguished Staff Awards 2010 at ceremonies held on campus on Employee Service Day, June 2. The award was presented to Jimmy Celotti of Williston, grounds crew leader, and Brian Biron of Georgia, assistant director of special services, on behalf of the grounds crew team. Also named was Alan Dickinson of Grand Isle, team leader, who was unable to be present, but was acknowledged for his exceptional role.

Ms. Phillips has been with Hickok & Boardman Financial Planning since 2002.

North Country Hospital nurse of 33 years is honored

Almost 33 years after being hired at North Country Hospital, Kim Major R.N., a nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at North Country Hospital, and 1976 graduate of North Country Union High School was honored with the sixth annual North Country Hospital Nursing Excellence Award. The honor was bestowed upon her by her peers at an award ceremony on May 12 at the Eastside Restaurant in Newport as part of Nurses Week.

Saint Michael’s names marketing assistant to focus on social media

Saint Michael’s College named Mallory Wood of Burlington, formerly of Chateaugay, N.Y., assistant director of marketing with a focus on social media, starting June 1. Ms. Wood was an admission counselor at the college from August 2008 till June 2010. Ms. Wood will orchestrate an overall college marketing approach to using social media, to advance recruitment, fund-raising and a general sense of community spirit. She will work with facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, campus Bloggers, and more, by posting content and creating content, especially video content.

Midwife Kathryn Saunders joins Gifford

An experienced certified nurse midwife with a strong commitment to the midwifery philosophy has joined Gifford Medical Center’s robust, like-minded practice. Kathryn Saunders, who previously practiced at Central Vermont Medical Center, has joined Gifford Ob/Gyn and Midwifery in Randolph and Berlin. Saunders spent nearly six years at Central Vermont Medical Center, where she says she created and grew the nurse-midwifery practice. Previously, she was an obstetrics nurse at the same hospital.
