The membership of the Vermont Arts Council elected five Trustees at its Annual Meeting at the Vermont State House. Pennie Beach of Vergennes, Carlos Haase of Montpelier and Stephanie Jerome of Brandon joined the board for their first three-year term. Caro Thompson of Walden and Greg Worden of Brattleboro were nominated for their second three-year terms. In addition, Rob Mermin of Montpelier was recently appointed to fill a vacant one-year term.

Chittenden Bank, a division of People’s United Bank announced today that Melissa Whitmore has joined the Wealth Management Division as the Senior Retirement Plans Manager. Whitmore will be responsible for statewide oversight of existing and new client relationships related to employer sponsored retirement plans including 401(k), 403(b), profit sharing, money purchase and defined benefit plans. Her responsibilities encompass review of investment quality, plan design, administration and employee education. Whitmore graduated from Lesley College with a BS in Organizational Behavior.

A star-studded cast of Vermont chefs, dubbed Team Vermont, has been breaking new ground bringing the culinary arts of Vermont to the James Beard House in New York City and back to Vermont, raising awareness and funds for the Vermont Campaign to End Childhood Hunger, and teaming together promoting each other’s work and restaurants – helping strengthen Vermont’s position on the international culinary stage.
