The Greater Burlington Y Hires New Director of Communications

The Greater Burlington Y is pleased to introduce Jane Dunbar as the new Director of Communications. At the Y, Dunbar provides strategic direction and tactical oversight for the organization’s comprehensive communications and marketing programs—with the ultimate goals of increasing and strengthening communications between the Y and its constituents, as well as between and among constituents themselves. Dunbar holds both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degree in English from Boston College, and brings over 18 years of experience in the marketing and communications fields. For the past five years, she ran her own consulting business, Dunbar Communications, working with mid- to large-sized companies in the high-tech, healthcare, consumer publications and consumer products sectors. She also assisted Spencer Group, Inc. in Burlington with copywriting and business development. Prior to moving to Burlington in 2005, she was the Marketing Manager for Jetboil, Inc. in Guild, NH.

For more than 144 years, the Greater Burlington Y has been a charitable organization with a social mission—to build a strong community by involving youth, adults and families of all ages, backgrounds, abilities, races and religions in programs and activities that develop spirit, mind and body. A champion and leader in youth development and healthy living, the Y is also the largest provider of high-quality, accredited and affordable childcare in the state of Vermont—serving more than 1,000 children per day at 29 sites in 5 counties. Financial assistance is available.
