Burlington Resident Joins NRG Systems

NRG Systems, Inc., manufacturer of wind measurement equipment for the global wind energy industry, announces the addition of Lauren Hahl as sales account manager. Lauren comes to NRG Systems from Utility Risk Management Corporation where she served as a senior sales manager overseeing sales strategy and new client acquisition. Prior to that, she served in technical sales and field operations roles at Utility Risk Management, leading internal teams and interfacing with clients.

New Extension Youth Farm Safety Coordinator is welcomed

Kristen Mullins recently started work at the University of Vermont Extension, accepting the position of youth farm safety coordinator. Her grant-funded position identifies farm safety issues specific to smaller, diversified farms, and uses those findings to create additional modules for the online curriculum Gearing Up for Safety, a Purdue University project. The project will also create and offer safety days and camps two and three years down the road, some of them specifically focused on girls and young women.

Rutland Extension Office welcomes Foster Parent Faculty

Joan Vance has joined the University of Vermont Extension, filling the Foster Parent faculty position and based in the Rutland area office. She will work with Foster Parents, Kin Care Parents and Adoptive parents to provide educational support for adults working with the children under their care. Previously, Vance held a county position working with youth; her background includes working with adults and youth in non- traditional parenting arrangements in the Pacific Northwest.

Political science professor receives top scholarship award at St Michael’s College

Dr. Jeffrey M. Ayres, Saint Michael's College professor of political science, earned the top Saint Michael’s scholarship award, the Scholarship & Artistic Achievement Award, for 2010, as selected by his faculty colleagues and presented at the Academic Convocation September 24 in the McCarthy Arts Center on the college campus.
