Penny Coleman joins the Armistead Team

Penny Coleman, RN, has joined the Lebanon, New Hampshire Branch of Armistead Caregiver Services. Penny has been an RN for over 30 years mostly working in the home health field. Most recently she worked with the Upper Valley Visiting Nurse’s Association where she was an intake nurse in their Referral Services department. Prior to working for the Upper Valley VNA, Penny worked for 13 years at Masonic Care Home Health and Hospice based in Wallingford, CT. Penny has two sons and 1 brand new grandchild. She lives in Windsor with her dog Hummel.

Graduates of Vermont HITEC LNA progam awarded jobs at Fletcher Allen Health Care

All nine participants of a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) training program have graduated and are now employed by Fletcher Allen in either full or part time positions in inpatient areas of the hospital. To earn the LNA positions, the students participated in a unique training program offered by Fletcher Allen and Vermont HITEC.

Johnson State College has appointed five new full-time faculty members:

Kathleen Brinegar, Ph.D., assistant professor of education, has a specialty in middle school/adolescent education. A former middle-grades teacher, she taught at the University of Vermont and was a research associate coordinating the Vermont Adolescent Literacy and Learning Initiative. In this capacity she also provided professional development to middle- and high-school teachers and taught graduate courses on adolescent literacy. Beyond her literacy research, she is examining the schooling experiences of immigrant and refugee students in the U.S.
