Vermont Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame announce 2011 winners

A news reporter, a sportscaster, a station executive and a legendary crooner have been named to the Vermont Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame.

Radio and TV news reporter Andy Potter, sportscaster George Commo and Vermont Public Television President and CEO John King will be inducted during the annual VAB Awards Banquet November 19 in Burlington. Radio and movie star Rudy Vallee will be inducted posthumously.

Linda Pervier honored by France with the Palmes académiques

The Alliance Française of the Lake Champlain Region (AFLCR) is pleased to announce that Linda Pervier has been decorated by the French Ministry of Education with les Palmes académiques – a prestigious award created by Napoléon for devotion and accomplishment in teaching French, extended internationally in modern times to include achievement in promoting the French language.

Choice Strategies appoints General Manager

The Northern Vermont Center for Sleep Medicine welcomes Innocent Ezenwa MD

The Northern Vermont Center for Sleep Disorders welcomes a new staff member. Innocent C. Ezenwa, MD is board certified in Internal Medicine and is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Ezenwa joins Veronika Jedlovszky, MD and David Alsobrook, MD. Dr. Jedlovszky is a pulmonologist and the medical director of the nationally accredited lab.

Bill Orleans attends The Int’l Assoc. of Professional Brochure Distributors Conference in Annecy, France

Bill Orleans, owner of PP&D Brochure Distribution of Burlington, VT, and President of the International Association of Professional Brochure Distributors presided over this years annual meeting in Annecy, France. The conference was hosted by Touring Info Services of France.

Attendees included members from The United States, Canada, Mexico, France, Belgium, Ireland, and England. Discussion topics included the latest research on the effectiveness on brochure distribution, our website, podcasts and brochure design tips. Members also provided yearly reviews and new projects.

Saint Michael’s names cancer researcher new Assistant Professor of Chemistry

Christina Chant, formerly assistant professor at Clarion University in Pennsylvania, is a new assistant professor of chemistry at Saint Michael’s College. She began this fall semester and is teaching physical chemistry, lecture and lab, and a general chemistry lab. In the spring, she will be teaching organic chemistry lab.
