Essex Resort & Spa welcomes Knox, Zemanek to sales team

The Essex, Vermont’s Culinary Resort & Spa, today announced two new additions to its Sales and Marketing Department. Erin Kennedy Knox joins The Essex as Senior Sales manager, and ShawnnaLea Zemanek is the resort’s new Conference Services Manager.

Knox, of Essex, Vermont, will be responsible for selling the wide array of Resort offerings to corporations and associations to cultivate and increase the resort’s group business portfolio. Knox has held several sales management positions including: Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center in South Burlington, MVP Healthplan in South Burlington, Bombardier Capital in Colchester, and then returned to the Sheraton in 2000 as a Senior Sales Manager. No stranger to The Essex Resort & Spa, Erin was the Director of Sales for several years when it was still known as The Inn at Essex. Knox comes to The Essex from Topnotch Resort & Spa where, for the past seven years, she has held the role of Senior Sales Manager.

Zemanek, also of Essex, Vermont, is a seasoned hospitality veteran and who has worked at Topnotch Resort and Spa in the roles of Catering Sales Manager as well Catering and Conference Services Manager for several years. ShawnnaLea has a background in Marketing and Event Management in a variety of corporate and non-profit environments; she also worked as a Sales & Operations consultant for Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid, New York. In that role she specialized in the training of Catering and Food & Beverage management staff in best practices for sales, detailing and execution of events. ShawnnaLea has also managed several high profile national conferences in Vermont and Massachusetts.
