Engineering Services of Vermont welcomes latest addition to growing company

Ben Moffatt joined Engineering Services of Vermont, LLC in May of 2011 as the growing company’s first full time hire. Ben was born and raised in Barre, Vermont where he attended Spaulding High School and Barre Technical Center. Along with his high school diploma he also earned a certificate in Architectural Drafting and CADD from the Barre Technical Center.

Todd Moore named SVP of Managed Care and Revenue Strategy at Fletcher Allen and President, Vermont Managed Care

Todd Moore, vice president of Revenue Cycle for the past four years, has been named senior vice president of Managed Care and Revenue Strategy at Fletcher Allen Health Care, a new position within the organization.

Moore has also been named president, Vermont Managed Care, a physician hospital organization (PHO), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fletcher Allen. These organizations are management service organizations in which the partners are physicians and hospitals. PHO organizations contract with insurance companies for physician and hospital services.

Pierre Masuy of OMYA, Inc. named Business Person of the Year

The Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce held their 113th Annual Meeting recently. Pierre Masuy, Plant Manager, OMYA, Inc.’s Florence Verpol Plant was named the 2011 Business Person of the Year. In his remarks RRCC EVP/CEO Tom Donahue noted the importance of the OMYA facility. The plant is the third largest in OMYA’s worldwide system, employing a staff of 175 workers. The plant is also the largest customer of Vermont Railway.

Dr. Bess Brackett named president of Clinical Orthopaedic Society board

Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Bess Brackett has been named president of the Board of Directors of the prestigious Clinical Orthopaedic Society. One of two female orthopedic surgeons at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph, she is the first woman president of The Clinical Orthopaedic Society in its nearly 100-year history. The society celebrates its centennial next year in Chicago. She is also the first second-generation president. Her father, Dr. Boone Brackett, also an orthopedist, was president in 1999.

The Burlington Business and Professional Women’s (BPW) organization presents its 2011 Woman of the Year, Employer of the Year and Woman of Achievement Awards at an Achievement Awards event on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. at the Best Western Windjammer Conference Center in South Burlington, Vt. New leadership team at Banwell Architects

Planner Shawn Donovan joins DuBois & King

DuBois & King, Inc., consulting engineers announced that Shawn M. Donovan, AICP, has joined the firm as a Senior Project Manager and Assistant Director of the firm’s Environmental and Natural Resources Division. Mr. Donovan has thirty years of planning and project management experience for major facility, land development, transportation, and infrastructure projects throughout New England, with extensive project experience in the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire and Vermont. Mr. Donovan resides in Lebanon, New Hampshire and is based out of the firm’s Randolph, Vermont office.
