Heintz appointed director of the UVM Cellular, Molecular, and Biomedical Sciences program

The University of Vermont Graduate College has appointed Nicholas Heintz, Ph.D., professor of pathology at the UVM College of Medicine, as director of the Cellular, Molecular and Biomedical Sciences Program (CMB). He took over the position July 1, 2013, succeeding the term of Mary Tierney, Ph.D., professor of plant biology at the UVM College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

VCIA welcomes incoming chairman William D. Riley

The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) welcomes incoming chairman William D. Riley, attorney at Burlington-based Paul Frank+ Collins, at the 28th Annual VCIA Conference. Riley, alongside Paul Frank + Collins’ Captive Insurance Group Chair Stephanie Mapes, will be actively involved at the Conference, which runs August 13 - 15.

Riley, who has almost 20 years of experience working in Vermont’s captive industry, is the first attorney in private practice to chair the board, which has historically been led by captive insurance company owners.

CATMA’S program and outreach manager recognized as a “Top 40 under 40 TDMprofessionals”

CATMA’s Program & Outreach Manager, Katie Martin, was recently recognized as one of the top "40 Under 40 Transportation Demand Management Professionals” from the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT), which is an international trade association that supports individual mobility management professionals and organizations in their efforts to reduce traffic congestion, conserve energy and improve air quality.

The awards were distributed on July 31 at the International ACT Conference in San Antonio, Texas.
