VEIC welcomes their new director of policy and public affairs

The Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC) has announced that Karen Glitman has been named the organization’s new director of policy and public affairs. Glitman has served as VEIC’s director of transportation efficiency since 2011.

In her new role, Glitman will lead the organization’s work designing and advancing cutting-edge policy related to sustainable energy. She will succeed Scudder Parker, who will continue to play an important senior advisory role at VEIC on policy issues.

Interim executive director appointed at
 Vermont Works for Women

The Board of Directors of Vermont Works for Women (VWW) has appointed Angela J Wells, of Richmond, as interim executive director of the $1.7 million nonprofit organization based in Winooski. Wells brings to the organization more than a decade of experience in business operations, systems creation and team/leadership development, following the departure of Tiffany Bluemle who served as executive director for the past 17 years. Bluemle departed the organization to lead an independent partnership between the Vermont Women’s Fund, the Vermont Commission on Women, and Vermont Works for Women.

Fresh for spring: KidsGardening.org unveils a new shop

KidsGardening.org, a resource of the National Gardening Association and a leading provider of gardening education, unveiled an e-commerce site that kicks off the new branding for the 43 year old nonprofit organization called the KidsGardening.org Shop.

“This change celebrates the heart of our mission while aligning our brands,” said Chief Operating Officer, Jennifer Tedeschi. “Essentially, we want to make our resources as accessible as possible for our audience—and the KidsGardening.org Shop helps in that effort.”

The Vermont Agency recognizes local associates for 2014 achievements

The Vermont Agency recently awarded their top 2014 agents at their annual awards banquet which was held at the Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center in Burlington. James J Handy, CLU was presented with the Blaine W Sprout Award which is presented to the agent who is the top producer of the Agency. The Super Bowl Award was presented to Mark L Elstner, CLU, ChFC for second top producer of the Agency.
