Digital commerce executive Joseph Lee joins MyWebGrocer as global senior vice president

MyWebGrocer, a digital experience platform for the grocery and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industries, today announced that Joseph Lee has joined the company as Global Senior Vice President, Commerce & Marketing. Lee brings 20 years of sales and management experience in the ecommerce space to MyWebGrocer, where he will oversee sales, solutions engineering and business development to drive growth in the grocery and CPG industries.

UVM Vice President for Legal Affairs named a Fellow of American Bar Foundation

Francine Bazluke, vice president for legal affairs and general counsel at the University of Vermont, has been appointed as a fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

According to the foundation, membership in the Fellows is limited to less than one percent of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction. Members are nominated by Fellows in their jurisdiction and elected by the Board of the American Bar Foundation.

New program manager for evaluations joins Stern Center’s Williston office

The pizza menu at J.J. Hapgood was a little more eclectic thanks to the creations of professional skiers and Olympians from Stratton Mountain School Nordic Team. Annie Hart created the Little Pizza on the Prairie, which was topped with local ground beef, caramelized onions, mushrooms, blue cheese, and fresh mozzarella. Olympic skier Sophie Caldwell created the Oleg’s Estonia Pizzas, a white-based pizza topped with local pulled pork, thinly sliced potatoes, caramelized onions, and fresh mozzarella.

Captain Richard Phillips to speak at Montpelier Rotary Club

Captain Richard Phillips, the merchant marine captain from Underhill who survived the well-publicized hijacking of the cargo ship Maersk Alabama by Somali pirates in 2009 will be speaking at the Montpelier Rotary Club this coming Monday, September 21.

The pirates held Phillips in a lifeboat for several days after the hijacking. In a high-stakes operation, the United States Navy killed the three pirates holding Phillips in the lifeboat and rescued Phillips. Phillips came home to Vermont to a hero’s welcome.

Townline Equipment acquires Kubota Dealership from Giddings Manufacturing

Townline Equipment, a family-owned business founded by the Marrazzo family in Plainfield, New Hampshire, has added a second Kubota dealership in Central Vermont through the recent acquisition of Giddings Manufacturing. Located five miles north of Rutland on U.S. Route 7 in Pittsford, Giddings was one of the original 25 Kubota dealerships in the U.S. and has been a dealer for Kubota tractors, equipment, parts and service for over 45 years.
