New program manager for evaluations joins Stern Center’s Williston office

The Stern Center for Language and Learning is delighted to announce the hiring of Melissa Farrall as Program Manager for Evaluations at our Williston office. Dr. Farrall received her certification as a Specialist in the Assessment of Intellectual Functioning in 1999 and her Master’s of Education in Learning Disabilities in 1994 from Rivier College. She received her doctorate in the area of Slavic Languages in 1981 and her Master’s Degree in Slavic Languages and Literature in 1978 from Brown University. Dr. Farrall is the author or Reading Assessment: Linking Language, Literacy, and Cognition as well as co-author of All About Tests and Assessments published by Wrightslaw. For several years, Dr. Farrall has taught in the field of special education at multiple colleges and has served as a consultant to institutions across Massachusetts and New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota. In addition, she has worked with the International Dyslexia Association at both the national and branch levels for more than 15 years.

We provide research-based learning evaluations and customized instruction, including those with learning disabilities, dyslexia, language disorders, social learning challenges, autism, attention deficit disorders and learning differences. We design and deliver customized professional learning programs and system development using current research and trends in education. Through the Cynthia K. Hoehl Institute, we work with schools and individual educators in early literacy, oral language, reading, written language, social cognition, executive functioning and math.
