Bruce Bovat to head Champlain College Campus Public Safety
Following a nationwide search, Champlain College has named Bruce D. Bovat of Georgia, Vt., to the position of Director of Campus Public Safety (CPS). The appointment will be effective August 8.
Bovat most recently served as the Deputy Chief of Police at the Burlington Police Department (BPD) where he oversaw the daily operations of 73 uniformed officers who serve as patrol officers, K-9 handlers, school resource officers, airport security officers and community service officers. Bovat also served as the Police Department’s public information officer.
Jeffrey D McKee, PsyD promoted to VP of community & behavioral health services
Jeffrey D. McKee, Psy.D. has been promoted to the position of Vice President of Community & Behavioral Health Services at Rutland Regional Medical Center. He has served as Director of Psychiatric Services since 2006. In this new role, he is responsible for the overall direction, leadership and operational management of community and behavioral health services, including: Psychiatric Services Inpatient Unit, Rutland Regional Behavioral Health, and West Ridge Center, Social Work Department, Community Health Team, and the Bowse Health Trust.
College of St Joseph’s Lambert, St Germain join Boys & Girls Club board of directors
College of St. Joseph’s James Lambert and Dr. David St. Germain have recently joined the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Rutland County.
Lambert serves as Associate Vice President for Marketing and External Affairs at CSJ. He has previously served as director of communications at CSJ since 2012, and was an editor at the Rutland Herald from 2003-2012. Lambert holds a master of science in information technology from Marlboro College and is an MBA candidate at College of St. Joseph, expecting to complete his degree in 2017.
Vermont Health Care, long term care leaders to retire
Two longtime and widely respected statewide advocates will retire from Vermont Legal Aid (VLA) in the next two months. Trinka Kerr, Vermont’s Chief Health Care Advocate, will retire on August 31 and Jackie Majoros, the State Long Term Care Ombudsman for Vermont, will retire on September 15. Both have worked at VLA throughout their legal careers.
