VNAHSR nurses win 2019 Betsy Gardner Scholarship
Nicolette R. Beagle, RN, CHPN, COS-C Hospice Clinical Manager and Alexandra Sands, RN Hospice are recipients of the 2019 Betsy Gardner Scholarship, an initiative of the Madison-Deane Education fund that provides educational funding for hospice and palliative care nurses.
The scholarship provides financial support for nurses to attend the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM) annual assembly in March. Each scholarship recipient includes a year membership to AAHPM, full conference registration and a stipend for airfare and hotel accommodations.
Community Bank NA announces promotion of Germann
Community Bank NA is pleased to announce the promotion of Geoffrey Germann to municipal banking officer in its government banking department. In his new role, Germann will be responsible for managing and growing the municipal banking customer base in designated markets. He has been with Community Bank NA since 2016 and most recently served as branch manager of the Essex Junction location. Prior, he spent time with Dartmouth-Hitchcock as assistant buyer.

Vermont Green Building Network (VGBN) is delighted to announce that Brian Just has been elected as the new VGBN Board President as of February 1, 2019. Brian works on a variety of energy efficiency initiatives at VEIC and supervises the team of energy consultants who implement Efficiency Vermont's Residential New Construction program. He enjoys exploring the numerous co-benefits of efficiency, from thermal comfort to health, water, and carbon impacts.
Mercy Connections to honor Alberghini DiPalma at luncheon
Mercy Connections is honoring Theresa Alberghini DiPalma, Senior Vice President for External Relations at the University of Vermont Health Network, as this year’s recipient of the Catherine McAuley Award. Each year the Board of Directors selects a person for this high honor who exemplifies compassionate service, leadership and commitment to building a just community. The award will be presented at Mercy Connections Annual May Luncheon on May 2, 2019 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in South Burlington.
