Holcombe named director of UVMCC and division chief of hematology and oncology
The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont (UVM), in collaboration with the UVM Health Network (UVMHN) and the UVM Medical Center, has announced that Randall F. Holcombe, M.D., M.B.A., has been appointed director of the UVM Cancer Center (UVMCC) and chief of the Division of Hematology and Oncology in the Department of Medicine. Holcombe is expected to hold the newly established J. Walter Juckett Chair in Cancer Research.
Spaulding RPh of Swanton selected as the 2021 recipient of the Bowl of Hygeia Award
The Vermont Pharmacists Association has selected Troy Spaulding RPh of Swanton, VT as the 2021 recipient of the Bowl of Hygeia Award. This prestigious national award is given to one pharmacist in each state for their history of outstanding professionalism and commitment to community service. Troy and his family have been a fixture in Swanton for nearly sixty years at their family-owned pharmacy. Troy is a certified immunizer. Additionally, he has served on the Nativity Parish Council, the Swanton School Board, and the Smugglers Notch Ski Patrol.
Governor Phil Scott appoints deputy commissioners at the Department of Liquor and Lottery
Governor Phil Scott today announced the appointments of Sabina Haskell and Wendy Knight as deputy commissioners at the Department of Liquor and Lottery.

UVM's Bose receives Outstanding Faculty Award
Pablo Shiladitya Bose has been named by the University of Vermont Alumni Association as the 2021 recipient of the George V. Kidder Outstanding Faculty Award. Bose is an associate professor in the Department of Geography, a Gund fellow, and director of the Global and Regional Studies Program in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Vermont.
Stender and Lambert join DEW Construction
DEW Construction (www.DEWconstruction.com) welcomes new hires, Dakota Stender and Michael Lambert. Dakota Stender has joined DEW as a Project Manager. He will manage the business side of projects, including subcontractors, the procurement process, overall schedule, cost control, change management, project accounting and disbursement. He will ensure that project and clients’ goals are met. Stender joins us from the Bread Loaf Corporation in Middlebury, VT where he was a project manager since 2015.
