Comcast names new human resources vp for Western New England region

Danelle Danemark, former senior director of human resources and business partner for Comcast’s sales and marketing organization across the Northeast, has been named vice president of human resources for the company’s Western New England region.

In her new role, Danemark, will oversee the region’s human resource functions, including talent management, career development and training; benefits, with a focus on employee wellness, safety and well-being; and employee engagement and recognition.

VITL announces personnel changes in preparation for next phase of growth

VITL, a Vermont-based nonprofit that operates the Vermont Health Information Exchange, announced the following hires and promotions in anticipation of the next phase of its development and growth: Sue Fritz, director of technology; Kristina Choquette, director of operations; Jennifer Starling, operations manager; and Carolyn Stone, portfolio strategist.

Lund taps Mary Burns for agency's next president, chief executive officer

Lund, a family-based services provider in Vermont, has hired Mary Burns as its next president and chief executive officer, effective June 1. Burns was president and CEO of the Greater Burlington YMCA from 2007 to 2015, a role she worked her way up to over 20 years with the organization, beginning as office manager. More recently, she held leadership positions in other YMCAs in the Northeast. In one of those roles, her focus was philanthropy; in another she led child care services.

Husband-wife surgery team joins Gifford Health Care

Gifford Health Care has hired the general-surgery team of Dawn Holman, MD, and her husband, Aleksandr Sokolovsky, DO, who have spent the past 20 years working together in private practice. The pair met in the 1990s while Sokolovsky was attending the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and Holman was a resident. They married in 2001 and started their practice shortly thereafter.

“We know each other on multiple levels, which makes for an easy work environment,” Sokolovsky said.
